The Senior Electrical Engineer Opportunity
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of electrical building services projects, managing the design process from initial concept through to completion and post-completion stages.
You will have the autonomy to manage projects independently, working directly with clients, architects, contractors and other design professionals.
Alongside your technical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to support and mentor less experienced engineers, contribute to project planning and play an important role in maintaining the consultancy's reputation for high-quality engineering design.
This position would suit an established Senior Electrical Engineer or an experienced Electrical Engineer who is already independently delivering projects and feels ready to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and independently manage electrical building services projects from concept through to post-completion.
- Take responsibility for electrical design quality, technical compliance and successful project delivery.
- Produce and review electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and design documentation.
- Oversee the design of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting and associated building services installations.
- Act as a key technical contact for clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Attend and lead design meetings, coordinate project activities and provide technical guidance throughout construction.
- Manage project programmes and deliverables, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to the required standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Support the continued development of the electrical engineering team and contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment.
About You
We are interested in speaking with experienced Electrical Building Services Engineers who can demonstrate:
- A minimum HND qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 3–5 years' relevant electrical building services design experience, with sufficient experience to operate at Senior level.
- A strong technical background in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
- Proven ability to independently manage projects from concept through to completion.
- Experience coordinating with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
- Sound knowledge of relevant electrical regulations, design standards and industry best practice.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The confidence to take technical responsibility for projects and support less experienced colleagues.
