Civil/ Structural design engineer – Newark

My client is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join their Building Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career by delivering high-quality engineering solutions for commercial and industrial development projects. As part of this company, you will be working across diverse sectors, including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, energy, and more. You will work closely with the Team Director and project leads, managing design and drawing production for various projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with the team, delegating tasks, and providing technical guidance
• Mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to client meetings
• Conducting site inspections and surveys when required
• Ensuring high-quality technical design output and adhering to BIM protocols
• Managing project timelines, costs, and preparing fee proposals

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Masters, ICE/IStructE accredited preferred)
• Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE/IStructE)
• Significant post-qualification experience
• Proficiency in design software, drawing, and modeling tools
• Strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
• Commercial awareness and project management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills
