Job Title: Sustainability Consultant - Energy

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and run detailed building performance models in IES to assess energy use, thermal comfort, and overheating risk.
- Undertake TM52, TM59, and TM54 analyses, interpreting results to guide design decisions and client strategies.
- Complete Part L and Part O compliance assessments, advising project teams on routes to compliance and optimisation.
- Carry out energy efficiency and operational energy analysis, identifying opportunities for performance improvement.
- Contribute to BREEAM assessments by delivering robust energy and thermal comfort-related credits.
- Produce high-quality, client-ready technical reports that clearly communicate complex findings and recommendations.
- Manage projects from inception to delivery, including planning work, coordinating with stakeholders, and monitoring progress.
- Present technical outcomes to internal and external teams, providing clear guidance on design and performance implications.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience (4+ Years) in building performance or energy consultancy, with a focus on non-domestic and/or residential buildings.
- Strong hands-on experience using IES for energy, thermal comfort, and overheating modelling.
- Demonstrable expertise in applying TM52, TM59, and TM54 methodologies in live projects.
- Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, particularly Part L and Part O, and their practical application.
- Track record of delivering energy efficiency and operational energy analyses that inform design and operation.
- Advanced technical report writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documents for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven project management capability, including managing timelines, deliverables, and client expectations.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience contributing to BREEAM energy and comfort-related credits on certified projects.
- Familiarity with wider building performance evaluation methods and post-occupancy analysis.
- Knowledge of low- and zero-carbon technologies and their integration into building designs.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary design or engineering environment.
