Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Structural Engineer to join a leading London-based Structural Engineering consultancy. This role is ideal for a candidate with around 5 years of experience in the UK engineering sector, having worked in a similar-sized consultancy. Candidates with a strong understanding of UK building regulations and a history of solid work experience are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will join a team focusing on a blend of permanent and complex temporary works projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detailed design of reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry, and timber building structures.

  • Design of structural glass and other specialist structural elements.

  • Structural steelwork connection design and detailing.

  • Temporary works design.

  • Preparation of letters and technical reports.

  • Conducting site inspections and surveys.

  • Production of technical drawings and sketches.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of a 2:1 BEng in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.

  • At least 5 years of post-graduate experience within a structural engineering consultancy environment, particularly in the design of building structures.

  • Familiarity with UK building regulations and structural design standards.

  • Proficiency in detailed design across a variety of materials (concrete, steel, masonry, timber).

  • Knowledge and interest in temporary works design.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in report writing.

  • Ability to conduct site inspections and produce accurate technical documentation.
