Job Title: Intermediate IES Modeller
Location: London
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and run IES VE models to assess building energy use, carbon emissions, and thermal comfort across project stages.
* Undertake dynamic thermal modelling and overheating analysis to support compliance, planning submissions, and design optimisation.
* Carry out daylighting and thermal comfort analysis in IES to inform design, internal layouts, and occupant comfort strategies.
* Support the design and coordination of building services strategies in Revit, integrating simulation outputs with multidisciplinary models.
* Lead and contribute to the environmental and sustainability aspects of commercial, hospitality, and heritage/listed building projects.
* Prepare clear, concise technical reports and presentations summarising modelling methodology, assumptions, results, and design implications.
* Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams to integrate performance insights into coordinated design solutions.
* Assist in managing and delivering multiple projects, ensuring modelling outputs meet programme, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as an IES Engineer or Building Performance Engineer working on UK projects.
* Strong proficiency in IES VE, including model setup, calibration, and interpretation of results.
* Hands-on experience delivering commercial and hospitality projects, with exposure to heritage or listed buildings.
* Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, with particular strength in Part L compliance and associated methodologies.
* Demonstrated experience with dynamic thermal modelling and overheating assessments for residential and non-domestic buildings.
* Practical experience conducting daylighting, thermal comfort and operational energy analysis within IES.
* Ability to analyse, interpret, and present energy and carbon performance data to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Confident collaborator within multidisciplinary design teams, with strong communication and coordination skills.
