The Opportunity
I am currently working with a leading specialist façade contractor that is continuing to grow its remediation and recladding division across the UK. They are looking to appoint an experienced Façade Surveyor to join their team in Leeds.
This is an excellent opportunity for a façade professional with strong experience surveying existing buildings, identifying defects and developing practical remediation solutions, particularly across recladding and façade remediation projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role from initial site investigation through to the development and delivery of façade remediation schemes, working closely with clients, contractors, designers and internal technical teams.
The Role
As a Façade Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
Carrying out detailed façade condition surveys and site inspections across existing buildings.
Undertaking intrusive investigations to identify façade defects, build-ups, materials and potential remediation requirements.
Assessing existing external wall systems and identifying risks associated with cladding, insulation, cavity barriers, fire performance and façade integrity.
Producing clear and detailed survey reports, photographic records and technical recommendations.
Supporting the development of recladding and façade remediation strategies.
Working with design and engineering teams to develop practical, compliant replacement façade solutions.
Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Reviewing existing drawings, specifications and site information to establish the condition and performance of existing façade systems.
Supporting surveys and assessments associated with EWS1, FRAEW, PAS 9980 and wider façade remediation requirements, where applicable.
Providing technical input into pre-construction, tendering and project delivery activities.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working as a Façade Surveyor, Façade Consultant, Façade Engineer, Building Envelope Surveyor or similar.
Strong experience surveying existing façade systems and buildings.
Proven experience working on recladding, remediation or façade refurbishment projects.
Good knowledge of façade systems including rainscreen cladding, SFS, curtain walling, brick slip, render and associated insulation systems.
Experience identifying façade defects and developing appropriate remedial solutions.
An understanding of current UK building regulations and façade fire safety requirements.
Experience with ERP / external wall risk and remediation processes would be highly desirable.
Strong report-writing and technical documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal confidently with clients and project stakeholders.
A willingness to travel to sites as required.
